• Anne Arundel County hosts approximately 10,000 hotel, motel, and B&B rooms. This means that in one fiscal year, the county has a total of 2.9 million room nights to sell.
• The county invests only a nickel per room night but receives in return $13.9 million in hotel taxes. In other words, for every nickel spent, the county receives $4.60 in tax revenue.
• 28,595 jobs—12 percent of the county's employment---are directly attributed to tourism.
• 17 percent of the state's tourism jobs are in Anne Arundel County.
• Hotels, motels, and B&Bs pay an estimated $4 million in property taxes to Anne Arundel County.
• Hotels, motels, and B&Bs pay an estimated $1 million in property taxes to the city of Annapolis.
• Hotels, motels, and B&Bs contribute 8% of the corporate Anne Arundel County property taxes.
