With the loosening grip of winter on the horizon, the seafarers would gather together and symbolically burn their socks to usher in the warm weather while ridding themselves of the uncomfortable socks worn throughout winter while at sea. This tradition has been adopted in Annapolis, with a fun twist. And you don’t have to be a sailor to join in the festivities at the Annapolis Maritime Museum...more
