Latitude Adjustment Party

The 2018 Latitude Adjustment Party is Eastport Yacht Club's biggest and best public block party with dancing and so much more. Every other year the Eastport Yacht Club throws a party to kickoff the Annapolis to Bermuda Ocean Race, introduce the intrepid skippers and their crews. The event is also the opportunity to recognize the Outstanding Marine Wizards nominated by boat owners and peers. It has a long and colorful history whose continued centerpiece is Wes Wilde's famous Rum Punch. Music perfomed by the Tiki Barbarians will flow throughout the event.  Bermuda and American themed food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

Other fun things planned for the evening include a nautical themed photo booth, Frozen T-Shirt Contest and 50/50 Raffle.

Proceeds from this event benefit the EYC Foundation and their Marine and Maritime scholarship funds.

All are welcome, this event is open to the public and we invite everyone to come and enjoy a night of music, dancing, food & fun.

Sailing Lessons at Eastport Yacht Club. Eastport Yacht Club is a small, sailing oriented, private club willing to host guests for seminars and social functions. The Mission of the Eastport Yacht Club Jr. Fleet is to support a Learn-to-Boat program that teaches student the basics of boat handling, seamanship, safety, and sportsmanship. The program strives to develop competence and confidence in our sailors and power boater in a safe and fun learning environment. We offer sailing lessons, offered to kids ages 6-15 and adults 16 and up. The EYC program emphasizes safety, learning, and foremost FUN, by teaching sailing, seamanship, navigational skills, plus an introduction to racing. Our program helps participants develop self-reliance, self-regulation, sportsmanship, knowledge and respect for the environment while ensuring boating safety awareness. With a combination of classroom time and on the- water time, classes are designed to teach the basic skills of sailing to beginners and to help hone the skills of more advanced students. The EYC Learn-to-Sail Program uses four types of boats: the Optimist, Open BIC, Sunfish, Club FJ, and J22. We also have fleet of paddleboards and kayaks used throughout our training as a fun alternative on those no wind days. We also offer safe powerboat handling for kids and adults starting at age 12. The Eastport Yacht Club is a recognized US Powerboating facility. We will be offering safe powerboating and race committee courses throughout the year. Courses are taught on-site at the Eastport Yacht Club in the Boston Whaler sizes 13, 15, and 17ft. All of our classes are taught by US Sailing Certified instructors with First Aid and CPR training. Who can take our classes? The program is open to EYC member’s and nonmember’s children ages 6-15. Our Adult program is open to students ages 16 and up. Registration is limited, and is on a first come basis. Class sizes are limited. Priority will be given to EYC members and nonmembers that have been in our program in a previous session/year. Non-members will pay an additional registration fee (one per family/per season).
