Begin your tour in the Historic District of Annapolis. Your “colonial” guide will provide a walking tour of Historic Annapolis and the U.S. Naval Academy, which will include the Maryland State House, the country’s oldest capital in continuous legislative use, where George Washington resigned his commission in the Continental Army and the Treaty of Paris, ending the Revolutionary War was signed. You tour will continue through historic Annapolis viewing exteriors of many of the 17th- and 18th-century buildings in Annapolis; and the campus of St. John’s College. Allow 2 1/2 hours for your guided tour.
Visit the U.S. Naval Academy, stroll “The Yard,” visit the Naval Academy Chapel, the Crypt of John Paul Jones and the U.S. Naval Academy Museum at Preble Hall. The Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center features the film “To Lead and to Serve,” the Freedom 7 space capsule and the Naval Academy Gift Shop.
Annapolis offers a wide variety of restaurants to delight your group. Consider one of our historic taverns – Middleton’s Tavern, Federal House Grille, Rams Head Tavern or Reynolds Tavern – and allow your group to be surrounded by history.
Allow free time for shopping at the Historic Annapolis Foundation Museum Store and other City Dock area shops.
