Drop your group at the Susan B. Campbell Memorial Park at City Dock. From here they can walk a short two blocks to the U.S. Naval Academy. Founded in 1845, the Academy is home to 4,000 of our country’s future naval leaders. Guided tours are available through the Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center that will allow you to stroll “The Yard,” the Naval Academy Chapel, the Crypt of John Paul Jones and the U.S. Naval Academy Museum at Preble Hall. Plan to spend at least 2 hours at the Academy.
Enjoy lunch at one of the many wonderful restaurants in downtown Annapolis. Consider Phillips Seafood Restaurant, Carrolls Creek or the Severn Inn for waterside dining. Add to your lunch the songs and antics of “Them Eastport Oyster Boys.” Their songs are filled with the heritage and history of the Chesapeake and are enjoyed by young and old alike.
Board one of the vessels of Watermark Cruises for a two hour cruise on the Chesapeake Bay. During the cruise you will pass under the twin spans of the Bay Bridges and pass by Sandy Point Shoal, Baltimore Harbor, and Thomas Point Shoal lighthouses. The cruise will be narrated by “The Lighthouse Keeper,” who will present in first person and in full 18th-century garb.
