Established in 1845 when the War Department acquired Fort Severn, the U.S. Naval Academy features the Brigade of the Midshipmen, the Gallery of Ships, the Cathedral of the Navy, artifacts and personal memorabilia in the museum and the Crypt of John Paul Jones. Visit the Educational Gallery, see the lunar TV camera that transmitted Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the moon and learn about World War II message encoders.
