AAACCVB Introduces New Board Members

Author: Susan Steckman

Release Date: Sep 16, 2009

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND – The Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau (AAACCVB) will officially pass the gavel to its new Chairman of the Board, James LoBosco, General Manager of Loews Annapolis Hotel, at the organization’s 19th Annual Partnership Meeting and Reception at the Loews Annapolis on Tuesday, September 22, at 4:30 p.m.

“The Conference and Visitors Bureau markets the destination to travelers from across the country and around the world. In tough economic times like these, it is more important than ever before to keep the destination’s name top of mind, says LoBosco. “The average convention traveler spends $265 per day while visiting a destination. This is new money for our retail establishments, hotels, and restaurants. These travelers also help the city, county, and state through hotel and sales taxes.”

LoBosco began serving his two-year term in July. His fellow officers include: Immediate Past Chairman Susan Zellers, Marine Trades Association of Maryland; Vice Chairman Lawrence Scott, County Executive John Leopold’s appointee to the board; Secretary Willie Wright, BWI Marriott; and Treasurer Bob DiPietro, RJD Consultants.

Annual meeting attendees will also be introduced to five new board members who began serving three-year terms in July. They are: Zia Boccacio of Alpaca International; Anthony Clarke of Galway Bay, the Eastport Business Association’s Marie Dall’Acqua; Joe Dantoni of Historic Inns of Annapolis, and April Nyman of the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.

Individuals who would like to attend the Annual Partnership Meeting and Reception are invited to register in advance by contacting the AAACCVB at 410-280-0445.

The AAACCVB is a nonprofit, membership-based, destination marketing organization that generates revenues for the local economy by promoting Annapolis and Anne Arundel County to leisure and business travelers across the country and around the world.
