This photo was taken from City Dock after a beautiful morning run on the Naval Academy in August 2007. My husband, myself, and our Black Lab were in town on a house-hunting trip and we spent the morning recalling our love for Annapolis. We moved to Connecticut from the area in 2005 and after retiring from the Navy, my husband and I were anxious to call Annapolis home. Most Saturday mornings start with a run downtown and a stop at City Dock for a hot cup of coffee and the breathtaking views. It is wonderful to be home!!

I started to really get into photography about a year ago and one of the things I've always loved about Ansel Adam's photography is how he paid attention to every detail in all of his photographs, especially the clouds. One day when I was driving home from work, I knew that the sky was going to be amazing. I rushed home, grabbed my camera and tripod, and went over to the 6th St bridge. Luckily, the sun was still waiting for me by the time I got there, hiding in the clouds.

It was very cold this night. I didn't have gloves and I could only have my fingers out for small periods of time to adjust the settings on my camera and my tripod. I took maybe 20 photos and at the end of that, I couldn't take the cold any longer. This was my favorite.
Thanks again to all who shared their memories of Annapolis. Please come back and visit Annapolis again soon.
