About Sandy Point State Park

Sandy Point State Park provides its visitors with endless memories and unforgettable stories to be passed down from one generation to the next. The park is open year round. This 786-acre Maryland State Park is located along the Northwestern shore of the majestic Chesapeake Bay. The park’s beaches and picnic areas are well known for their breathtaking scenic water views that overlook one of Maryland’s true treasures, the Chesapeake Bay. The park was first opened on June 25, 1952 and has provided its guests with various activities and services ever since. Some of these activities and services include Swimming Beaches, Picnicking, Fishing, Crabbing, Boating, Hiking, Youth Group Camping, Areas of Historical Interest and Wildlife Viewing. The Park also offers a marina store and boat rentals.

Saturday September 8th & Sunday September 9th, 2018Sandy Point State Park, Annapolis, MD Mark your calendars on September 8th & 9th for the 51st Annual Maryland Seafood Festival! We’re celebrating over 50 years of food and fun at Sandy Point State Park with a weekend full of delicious seafood dishes, interactive cooking demonstrations,  exciting competitions, kids activities and more! While you sample all of our tasty offerings, enjoy all of our maritime related exhibits, contests, and activities. The Maryland Seafood Festival also hosts loads of local shopping and vendor options, a fantastic beverage selection with lots of local craft beer and wine, and tons of kids activities, all hosted along the beautiful shores of the scenic Chesapeake Bay. Looking to help out?  We have numerous volunteering opportunities.  Please check out our volunteer page to sign up. Parking at Sandy Point will be available only for those who pre-purchase a parking pass. Additional parking is available at Anne Arundel Community College, and there will be shuttles to transport guests from the parking lots to the Maryland Seafood Festival and back again! A portion of the proceeds from the festival go to our local YMCA Camp Letts.

2018 is the 20th Anniversary of the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival. Check the festival website for a current list of performers. Performers include: Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band Delbert McClinton Keb' Mo' Band Doyle Bramhall II Shemkia Copeland Mike Zito  Mr. Sipp Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band Jerron "Blind Boy" Paxton Heather Gillis Band Brandon Taz Niederauer And many more!! Brian Setzer and the Rockabilly Riot will be the closing performers on Saturday, May 19 Rain or Shine Parking: Limited parking will be available first come first serve at Sandy Point State Park for $20/ car. Parking is also available at the Naval Academy Stadium for $10/ car and at Kent Island High School on the Eastern Shore with Shuttles running to and from the event throughout the day. Shuttle service will begin at both locations at 9am. Concert stage with Jumbtron, large crafter village, a wide variety of food and drink, Beer and Wine, beach, lawn seating What to Bring: Low back lawn or beach chair or blankets, sunblock, sunglasses.  Sun tents may be used on the beach as long as they don't impede anyone's view of the stage.
