Come Sail Away to Annapolis and Anne Arundel County—the premier location for your next sporting event. For over three centuries, we have been host to large and small national and international events including the Volvo Ocean Race Sailing Regattas, World Cup Lacrosse Championships, NCAA events, National and State softball and baseball tournaments, ice hockey championships, and multiple AAU events. Our area provides first-rate venues and a variety of top-quality accommodations.

The Washington Bayhawks, a prefessional Lacrosse team, plays their  home games in Annapolis at the United States Navy-Marine Corps Stadium.

The second annual ZOOMA Annapolis Half Marathon & 10K race, a signature health & fitness event showcasing the city of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County takes place on Sunday, May 31, 2009. Last year’s race attracted 1,700 runners. 3,000 runners are expected to participate in this year’s race. For more information about ZOOMA, please visit www.zoomarun.com.

Experience Annapolis Weekend -Friday June 12 to Sunday June 14, 2009 

Potomac Pedalers Touring Club (PPTC) in partnership with the local cycling community, Capital Bicycle, City of Annapolis and Wholeness for Humanity is hosting “Experience Annapolis Weekend”.  The event consists of city tours, boat tours, walking tours, cycling eco tours and a reception with Mayor Ellen Moyer. Most rides vary in length from 20 to 66 miles on routes designed by Annapolis cyclists. For registration information, including hotel accommodations, please visit  www.bikepptc.org
