Maritime Republic of Eastport’s 11th Annual Tug of War

The Slaughter Across the Water, the longest tug of war over a body of water in the world, takes place across the Annapolis Harbor. The tug of war between the Maritime Republic of Eastport and Downtown Annapolis features a 1700 foot rope, more than 450 tuggers, and more than 1,000 spectators.

More than 70 power and sailboats bedecked for the holidays transform the Annapolis harbor into a sea of colorful lights during Maryland's oldest lighted boat parade. As the parade ends, fireworks are set off over the harbor.
