Amy: I moved here because I was drawn to the City and the Chesapeake. Everyone asks if I had a career plan for Annapolis, and I tell them, “No. I just wanted to be by the water in a cool town.”
Jason: I am passionate about the sport of sailing and boating. And, the Chesapeake is definitely a treasure that we want to take advantage of every day.
A lot of our friends are boaters, and we all get together and do boating activities.
Amy: It’s very sociable here. People are out and about, either around down town or Main Street, meeting for a drink after work, meeting up on the boats on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a lot of fun here. It’s healthy. It’s active. You’re out.
Jason: The other great thing about Annapolis is how close it is to Baltimore and DC. Being Orioles’ and Ravens’ fans, we love going to the games. I always like to think of Annapolis as the smallest big city. It has the historic charm, but there is so much to do.
Amy: That’s what I really like. You can just feel all of the history here, and the quaintness of the town. There is no other place that I have been that is like it, or can even match it.
Jason: Annapolis is great because you can just drop anchor and use the water taxi. A lot of people drop anchor right out in front of the Naval Academy. What’s nice about Annapolis too, boating-wise, is that it’s at the mouth of the Severn, rather than way up the river the way that Washington, DC is way up the Potomac. In Annapolis, the Chesapeake is right then and there.
