Lafayette’s Annapolis Walking Tour | Saturday, April 20
Marquis de Lafayette is everyone’s favorite fighting Frenchman. His role in the Revolutionary War even earned him a street in his namesake in the heart of downtown! Follow along historian Glenn Campbell and retrace Lafayette’s steps from his 1824 trip to Annapolis. At the time of his tour, Lafayette was the oldest living war general and was treated like a genuine rockstar. Come learn why Lafayette sided with the Americans during the Revolution, and why his name is still highly regarded today! Highlights of the tour include the Maryland State House, McDowell Hall, and a few sites from Lafayette’s earlier trips to Annapolis.

The Listening Walk | Tuesday, April 16
Teach the little ones to hone in on their senses with Mr. Paca’s Backyard Preschool Program. Take a tour around the gardens and make note of all of the sounds you hear. Find out which everyday sounds stick out to in little minds, and which ones go unnoticed. You may be surprised when you compare answers! Mr. Paca’s Preschool Program is held every other Tuesday. The program uses children’s stories to explore the gardens. Recommended for ages 3-5 and includes story time, art projects, movement activity, and a snack.

James Brice House Hard Hat Tour | Saturday, April 27
Take a look at what goes on behind the scenes of a historic restoration project. See first hand the progress being made to restoring the house to its original 1774 appearance - including the building’s interior and exterior. Hear from the highly respected experts in their fields what it takes to complete a project like restoring a colonial mansion, as well as a history of the James Brice House! The restoration team has extensive experience in restoring historic residences including Mount Vernon and Monticello. Please note that this tour is in a construction zone; Hard hats will be provided. Closed toed shoes are required and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
