As part on an on-going project produced by Drawn to the Image, Artisan Portraits highlights the great artists, from a wide variety of disciplines, found here in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. This time around, I had the pleasure of sitting down with street artist, Jeff Huntington, a street artists whose artwork focuses on large, intricate murals on the side of buildings. You may have seen some of his work while walking around downtown, most notably, his mural above Tsunami on West Street.

Growing up in a family of artists and surrounded by creativity, it was only natural that Jeff found his footing in the art world. His passion led him to art school –  a Master in Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in from the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. – then to a career as a studio artist for 25 years, before eventually turning to street art full time.

Jeff's vision, passion, and talent is evident in his work, which is just a sampling of Annapolis' incredible art community.

Jeff lives and works in Annapolis. He, along with his wife Julia, are the founders of Future History Now; a non-profit organization committed to creating collaborative art projects with kids and adults facing adversity.
