A former site of a colonial seaport founded on the South River in 1683, Historic London Town and Gardens is now a 23-acre park that features an abundance of history, archaeology, and horticulture.

London Town

Owned by Anne Arundel County and managed by the London Town Foundation, I had the pleasure of exploring the many historical and educational offerings this site provides. With reconstructed period buildings, an archaeology lab, extensive gardens, and an interactive exhibit, there is much to discover on the grounds. London Town also offers countless events throughout the year – from guided tours to musket fire demonstrations and seasonal activities to reenactments.

Plus, mark your calendars! Beginning this Friday is Illuminated London Town. Come out and sip on hot cider, roast s’mores, and explore a festive display of holiday lights across the gardens. You can even pop in the William Brown House, that is currently being renovated, for a candlelight tour.
