Historic London Town and Gardens is one of the crown jewels of Four Rivers Heritage Area, and Annapolis as a whole. Situated on 23 acres of land against the South River in Edgewater, London Town is steeped in history. An active archaeological site on location offers a glimpse into the lives of London Town's early colonial settlers as well as the Native Americans that called this land theirs long before Europeans reached the new world. There's a large visitor center with exhibits showcasing the stories dug up from the grounds of London Town, along with a recreated village depicting what the land may have looked like when Europeans first settled here. You'll also find the William Brown House, an original, 18th-century home open for public viewing.
London Town holds educational events regularly, offering visitors a chance for a great, interactive history lesson. Join blogger Kat Spitzer on her visit to London Town for a musket demonstration.
