There comes a time every once and a while where you find yourself out with friends late at night, or even just having a relaxing night in when the need for a late-night snack hits. Maybe you’ll need more than a snack to tie yourself over. Or if you’re someone who must have a late-night dining option wherever they visit, or simply a local who just enjoys sitting down for a meal with friends later into the evening and doesn’t want to be bothered with 'Last Call' for a few hours, here are some local spots that serve up culinary goodness well after the sun has gone down:

DRY 85

Named with a nod to history and prohibition, this bourbon, beer, and gourmet comfort food establishment is choice for a late-night meal with friends. Open till midnight (and until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays) DRY 85 embraces an industrial and outlaw attitude when it comes to good food and drinks. For 85 days after the repeal of prohibition, the citizens of the District of Columbia had to seek refuge in speakeasies until the Sheppard Act was no longer in effect. This name is a recognition of those 85 days and “if the 18th Amendment was still the law of the land today, DRY 85 is where you would sneak a bourbon, beer or gourmet comfort food meal.” And if you’re out late enjoying a whiskey from their curated collection, you’ll want to enjoy their Seafood Mac n’ Cheese or hearty Chicken and Waffles.

Tsunami

A West Street staple, Tsunami is an Asian-fusion option for those that need to get spicy tuna rolls after 11 pm. In fact, sushi loving night owls can revel in the fact that Tsunami’s sushi bar is open until 1 a.m. seven nights a week. If you stop by earlier in the evening there is a chance you’ll get to enjoy some live music or you can peruse the walls which are decorated with art from regional artists, making this late-night dining option even more special! Pair your meal with one of their signature cocktails or from their sake collection. For those looking to enjoy non-sushi options, their selections on the fusion side of the menu such as miso-glazed sea bass and bibb tacos will surely hit the spot.

Chick & Ruths Delly

Now being open until 11 p.m. (12:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays) might not be considered a total late-night dining option, but if you’re in need of a 3lb burger at 10 p.m. on a Wednesday - this is the place to stop by. An Annapolis mainstay since 1965, Chick & Ruths Delly serves up classic multi-layered sandwiches, old-fashioned milkshakes, and of course: food challenges. If you live in Annapolis long enough, you hear of the infamous 6 lb milkshake challenge at Chick & Ruths Delly. Well, their ability to challenge and create massive dishes is not limited to milkshakes. You could also hunker down and attempt their Man vs. Food Challenge, Super Colossal Sandwich Challenge, or Super-Duper Colossal Cheeseburger Challenge.

Davis Pub

Head over to Eastport and enjoy the charm and comfort of a neighborhood pub. Serving a light fare menu until 1 a.m. seven days a week, Davis Pub is a laid back one-level bar. Originating as a general store in the 1920s, then becoming Davis Lounge for local watermen in the 1940s, and by 1986 it became Davis Pub where it has been an Eastport gem since. When you’re looking to relax with a beer and tasty pub food, make sure to order a Maryland favorite: the Crab Pretzel. And who could turn down a late-night grilled cheese or Pub Tots (that’s tater tots with cheddar cheese, bacon and crab dip) to soak up the alcohol?

As you can see when hunger strikes, no matter the hour, Annapolis has plenty of late-night dining options to nip that feeling in the bud!
