Working the Water is a publication documenting the Chesapeake Bay’s contribution to the seafood industry by local photographer, Jay Fleming. With over 300 photographs of nearly every fishery In Maryland and Virginia, Jay sheds light on the lives of those individuals whose livelihoods is dependent on the Bay. Now, you can see his work on display at Maryland Hall, including photographs from his upcoming book “Island Life” – a documentation of life on Smith and Tangier Islands. The exhibit is on display now through November 3 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Childhood Classics: One Hundred Years of Children’s Books Illustration is an exhibit at St. John’s College Mitchell Gallery now through December 16 from 12:00 – 5:00 pm. These illustrations bring your favorite children’s books to life with over 140 original works from more than 75 books. Explore the history of children’s books from the turn-of-the-century pen-and-ink Mother Goose, to the most popular works of today.

Experience ‘The Babylon Line’ at the Colonial Players now from November 11 at 8:00 pm. During this show, the audience is gifted with an engaging tableau of love, loss, and the yearning for understanding in 1960s suburbia while the actors take on multiple roles as characters in each other’s stories.

The exhibit, Symbiosis by Vicco Von Voss’ will be at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts November 8 through December 19 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The complex, complimentary interrelationship between two organisms is the founding concept of this exhibition. “Symbiosis” reflects Vicco von Voss’ need to explore beyond his artistic boundaries by inviting collaboration.

The Muddy Creek Artists Guild Holiday Show and Sale is November 30 from 11:00 am – 8:00 pm at South River Colony Main Street Shopping Center. Explore unique creations from over 40 local South County artists. The Fearless Girls Photography Group Exhibition will be at Maryland Hall from October 17 through December 19. This exhibit celebrates the work of young girls who have learned confidence and individuality through photography.

Architect & Apprentice is an exhibition focusing on the relationship of the Hammond-Harwood House architect, William Buckland and his apprentice and craftsman. On display until December 31 from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm every day, come learn the history of one of Colonial America’s premier 18th-century architects.
