How to Get Around
Like easy? Annapolis and Anne Arundel County’s proximity to Baltimore, Washington, DC and major population centers makes it a convenient group travel destination. Whether you’re coming by land, sea or air, our vast transportation network provides you with a host of appealing options.
Once you’re here, there are many ways to get around. The best way to explore downtown Annapolis is to park your car in one of our public garages and head out on foot. If you prefer, you can park just outside of the Historic District – at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium – and take the shuttle or walk into town for a day of exploring. When you reach your walking quota, hop aboard the Annapolis Circulator for transportation to your favorite downtown shops, restaurants and attractions.
When in Annapolis, do as the locals do. Ride a water taxi. Not only are they fun, they’re an excellent way to get from Annapolis to your favorite restaurant in Eastport or from your boat mooring to City Dock. The taxis also provide great views of Annapolis from the water!
Planning to cover a lot of turf during your visit? If so, renting a car might be your best option. A host of companies make it easy to do here. Private car rental companies also make it quick and convenient to pick up and drop off your car – leaving you more time to enjoy your vacation.
