Marmo & Armada

You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy tequila, and that’s kind of the same thing. Annapolis is in for a culinary treat as the Atlas Group, the team behind The Choptank, prepares to open two exciting new restaurants by the end of summer. Located in the former Pusser’s space at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel, the two concepts—Marmo and Armada—will bring fresh, vibrant dining options to the area. Marmo, inspired by its sister restaurant in Houston, will offer an energetic Italian chophouse experience, complete with an authentic wine list that will impress any enthusiast. Meanwhile, Armada will bring a bold, waterfront tequila bar and cantina to the scene, serving up flavorful Mexican cuisine and an extensive bar selection. Designed by the renowned Patrick Sutton, both restaurants will feature indoor and outdoor seating options, ensuring a perfect spot for any mood. With two distinct yet complementary vibes right next to each other, locals and visitors alike are sure to find something to love at Marmo and Armada.

 

The Lodge Pasadena

If you're looking for a beautiful dining experience, The Lodge in Pasadena has it all, featuring farm-fresh ingredients served in a refined, artisanal atmosphere. Enjoy a cozy meal by the fireplace or sip a drink at the bar surrounded by rustic decor, all while soaking in the warm, welcoming vibes. The menu offers mouthwatering dishes like Barn Bacon Steak, Jumbo Wings, Chef’s Famous Pot Pie, and Artisan pizzas, sure to satisfy even the most discerning guests. With happy hours and a delicious Sunday brunch, The Lodge is perfect for any occasion where you want to indulge.

 

Timber Pizza

The first Maryland location of Timber Pizza Co., which opened in September 2024, marks a dream come true for co-owner and Annapolis native Chris Brady. Starting as a pick-up truck operation in 2014, the popular chain has since expanded to D.C. and Virginia, and bringing the concept to his hometown has been a source of immense pride for both the founders and the Annapolis community. With its innovative and delicious wood-fired pizza recipes, Timber Pizza Co. has quickly become a local favorite.

 

SeaSalt at the Westin

Indulge in fresh, local flavors at Seasalt, the newly opened restaurant at the Westin Annapolis. If you're craving locally sourced and sustainably crafted dishes, this is the spot to be. The menu offers a delicious blend of classic seafood and raw bar options, along with flavorful pasta and protein choices, all with a touch of global influence. Pair your meal with one of their decadent cocktails and take in the vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're out for a casual bite or a special night, Seasalt is a must-visit culinary gem in town.

 

Capo Deli

Authentic Italian dishes, sandwiches, and desert... sounds sub-lime doesn’t it? Capo Deli is bringing those genuine flavors to downtown Annapolis, taking over the former Jimmy John’s location. With several spots already in Maryland, D.C., and Virginia, this beloved chain is known for its mouthwatering recipes and classic Italian fare. Capo Deli is thrilled about expanding to Annapolis, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome them. Stay tuned for updates on their opening date!

 

Dat Jerk Caribbean Chargrill

We're not jerk-ing around when we say, Dat Jerk Caribbean Chargrill is bringing a burst of mouthwatering Caribbean flavors to Anne Arundel County with its new location in Crofton. Offering a tempting menu of curry, jerk chicken, roti, honey lime jerk salmon, and customizable bowls, there’s something for everyone to savor. With a variety of specials and catering options available, this spot is perfect for satisfying your deepest cravings. Exhibits

Because who doesn’t love a thought-provoking exhibit in a space that sparks creativity?

 

Shadow of My Labor

Chesapeake Arts Center’s “Shadows of My Labor: Honoring Black History Month” celebrates creativity, activism, and the legacies of the Black community. Join the opening reception on February 20th from 6-8 PM for light refreshments and thought-provoking art, or swing by anytime between January 23rd and March 4th to explore the exhibit at the Hal Gomer Gallery. It’s a powerful showcase that you won’t want to miss, with plenty of time to soak it all in.

 

SPARK!

SPARK! is the Smithsonian’s traveling exhibit bringing the history of human innovation to rural America, and it's making its way to Anne Arundel County in 2025. Dive into diverse stories with engaging interactives, objects, videos, and augmented reality, all showing how risks and inventions shaped our world. Don’t miss it at the Captain Avery Museum from August to October 2025—this is one exhibit that’s sure to ignite your curiosity.

 

Sacred Spaces

Jabari Jefferson’s debut museum exhibition, "Sacred Spaces," opens February 8th, 2025, highlighting Black cultural traditions through transformed materials like textiles, books, and soil. His work breathes new life into discarded objects, connecting history, memory, and sustainability with striking sculptures, canvases, and a community installation with Annapolis locals. Stop by Banneker-Douglas-Tubman Museum on February 8th or any time until December 30, 2025 to experience this powerful tribute to Black intellectual and spiritual spaces.

 

BWI 41st Exhibition: Peace of Mind Exhibit

Need a mental getaway between flights? The “Peace of Mind” exhibit at BWI’s Gateway Gallery offers tranquil landscapes and surreal art to soothe your soul. On display until March 23rd, 2025, it’s the perfect place for a peaceful pause during travel or a quiet afternoon stroll.

Dave & Busters to Open in Annapolis Mall

Dave & Buster's is opening at Annapolis Mall in winter 2025, bringing a whole new level of entertainment. Enjoy arcades, virtual reality, and big-screen sports while snacking on delicious food and drinks. It’s the perfect spot for gaming, fun prizes, and a lively atmosphere for all ages.

 

Peninsula Park Reconstruction

Peninsula Park in Annapolis is undergoing exciting renovations, including updated baseball fields and a new multi-purpose field. Additional upgrades include a paved parking lot, stormwater management, new lighting, and demolition of an old building to create more space. Phase 1 wraps up in December 2024, with more improvements still to come.

 

LifeTime Gym - New Pickleball Courts

LifeTime Annapolis is expanding with 11 new indoor pickleball courts in a 46,000-square-foot space. You’ve got to be "dill"-igent to master pickleball, luckily LifeTime offers leagues, tournaments, free play, and lessons for pickleball enthusiasts of all levels. The expansion also includes fitness spaces and recovery services for all your health and wellness needs.

 

Annapolis Irish Festival - Now 2 Days

The Annapolis Irish Festival now spans two days at the Crownsville Fairgrounds, with new events and performances. An exclusive adult-only Friday night will kick off the weekend, followed by family-friendly festivities on Saturday. Expect live Celtic music, food, dance, and plenty of activities for all ages.

 

Urban Air Adventure Park
