Veterans Day Navy Men’s Basketball Event

November 7th at 8:30 p.m. EST

Cheer on Navy as they take on Yale in the 12th Annual Men’s Basketball Event at Alumni Hall. The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network, and veterans of all service branches are honored during this exciting matchup. While on the Yard, explore the Midshipmen Store, enjoy meals, or book a guided tour.

 

Guided Tours of the Naval Academy 

Wondering the what the life of a midshipmen looks like on the Yard? Naval Academy Business Services Division (NABSD) guided tours take you through historic sites where midshipmen train, live, and grow as leaders. Tours provide fascinating insights, and even alumni can participate virtually through reunions and merchandise offerings all benefiting the Brigade. 

IMPORTANT: The United States Naval Academy is only open to United States citizens with a REAL ID, U.S. Passport, or Enhanced Driver’s License. Foreign Nationals cannot process onto the United States Naval Academy. 

 

Honoring the Legacy: Black Veterans from the Revolution to the Present 

November 10th (Virtual) 

Join the Banneker-Douglass-Tubman Museum for a powerful virtual discussion exploring the service and sacrifices of Black veterans throughout U.S. history. Led by U.S. Veteran O. Abiola Akintola, the program covers everything from the Battle of Bunker Hill to Iraq and Afghanistan, with a critical look at the role of Black veterans today. Accessible online, this is a can’t-miss discussion for history and service enthusiasts. 

 

Veterans Ceremony in Downtown Annapolis 

November 11th

At Memorial Circle, the Fleet Reserve Association and Mayor Gavin Buckley host the annual Veterans Day ceremony. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony moves indoors to the Fleet Reserve Club at 100 Compromise Street. This tradition honors all U.S. veterans and commemorates the historic Armistice of November 11, 1918—the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. 

 

Navy Football vs. USF 

November 15th

Close out Veterans Day week at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium as Navy takes on USF. From basketball to football, Annapolis offers multiple ways to celebrate service, enjoy the city’s coastal charm, and connect with naval history.
