Visitors to Annapolis who want to stay close to the U.S. Naval Academy, known by locals as “the Yard,” have plenty of accommodation options – from Navy-themed hotels to bed and breakfasts owned by former midshipmen – within easy walking distance of the Gate 1 pedestrian entrance on Randall Street and Prince George Street. Proximity to the Academy means you’ll not only enjoy the sights and sounds of the 338-acre waterfront campus from outside its walls but, more importantly, will also be able to quickly discover and observe its one-of-a-kind buildings, statues, parades, and ceremonies. Just be sure to book early, especially when traveling for Commissioning Week, as mids’ parents regularly visit for events and activities throughout the year!

The United States Naval Academy is only open to United States citizens with a REAL ID, U.S. Passport or Enhanced Driver’s License. Foreign Nationals can not process onto the United States Naval Academy.
