What is Anne Arundel County Arts Month?

Anne Arundel County is home to a vibrant arts community. The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County has teamed up with AND Creative Studios, Chesapeake Arts Center, and Arts Lab of South County to create a month-long celebration of art called Anne Arundel Arts Month.

This festival brings the community together around a broad and diverse local arts scene. During June, we invite all to engage and interact with the arts through elevated community-led events. Performances, workshops, exhibits and more will showcase the importance of a thriving arts community. The arts bring joy, build community, and generate economic value for our county and state.

Highlights of Anne Arundel Arts Month

• Live at BWI Performances (all month) To kick off the summer travel season, Rams Head On Stage and AMFM are sponsoring live music by local artists at A/B Ticketing at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. 
• Glen Burnie Town Center Arts Celebration (June 6th & 7th) a two-day festival showcasing local businesses, arts, and entertainment, actively engaging the public to create a refreshed plaza just in time for summer. There will be family-friendly performances and activities, food trucks and vendors, and more.
• First Sunday Arts Festival (June 1) A beloved Annapolis tradition featuring local artists, craftspeople, and performers.
• Paint Annapolis (June 1-8) An internationally recognized plein air painting competition bringing artists from around the globe.
• Annapolis Arts Week (June 9-15) A week-long celebration engaging attendees with multiple arts disciplines throughout Maryland's capital city with a new weekend event called Bounce!
• Chesapeake Arts Center (month of June) The center will showcase community creativity through free workshops, two major exhibitions celebrating LGBTQIA+ artists and emerging talent, and family-friendly events including printmaking, storytelling, and craft activities.
• Liminal Spaces Art Party (June 28) Arts Lab of South County will host an immersive experience blending the visual and literary arts, bringing community members together.
