Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Marketing Sponsorship Program
Fiscal Year 2026
The Marketing Sponsorship Program supports events that drive tourism, generate overnight and multi-day stays, and enhance the overall visitor experience, while also contributing positively to the quality of life for local residents. The program is open to local community groups, non-profits, event organizers, sports organizations, and tourism-focused businesses that attract out-of-market visitors, particularly those traveling from more than 75 miles away, including out-of-state (outside of Baltimore DMA) and international travelers.
In 2026, as the nation marks America’s 250th anniversary and the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we want to understand how your event will generate press, headlines, and interviews that position it as a bold, signature tourism initiative for the region. Sponsorship applicants must clearly demonstrate how their event will Be Revolutionary in 2026 through new programming, reimagined experiences, innovative storytelling, or meaningful enhancements that set it apart from previous years.
Program Goals:
Drive Overnight Stays
Stimulate bookings at local hotels and Short-Term Vacation Rentals (STVRs) by partnering with events that generate measurable overnight room demand. Priority is given to events that attract out-of-market attendees who stay overnight, extending the economic benefit of tourism.
Maximize Economic Impact
Our goal is to attract visitors, defined as individuals traveling from 50 or more miles outside the center of Anne Arundel County, and encourage them to spend across the local economy. Priority is given to events that inspire attendees to go beyond the event itself and explore area shops, restaurants, attractions, and other local businesses, thereby amplifying the economic benefit to the community.
Enhance Destination Appeal
Support events that elevate the image and appeal of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County as a top-tier destination. The program prioritizes those that create a memorable visitor experience while minimizing disruption to local residents, such as traffic congestion or excessive noise.
